We are conducting a survey on the experiences of violence in close relationships among Helsinki residents aged 18 and over. You can respond to the survey anonymously until 9 October 2026. Every response helps us develop services and strengthen support for all those affected by violence and their loved ones.

The Hietaniemenkatu Service Centre, the City of Helsinki food aid points and many voluntary organisations offer you food, clothes and washing facilities. Additionally, these locations often have dedicated social workers available to assist you with any challenges or concerns you may have.

Meal and hygiene services at the Hietaniemenkatu Service Centre
The Hietaniemenkatu Service Centre offers you a free-of-charge breakfast and an affordable lunch and dinner on all days of the week. The sauna and shower facilities are also at your disposal every day.
Food aid social work
Social instructors from food aid social work can help if you have any issues with understanding messages from the authorities, applying for benefits or drafting appeals, for example.
