We are conducting a survey on the experiences of violence in close relationships among Helsinki residents aged 18 and over. You can respond to the survey anonymously until 9 October 2026. Every response helps us develop services and strengthen support for all those affected by violence and their loved ones.

Children and young people in need of special care can be placed in professional family homes.

A professional family home must have individuals with a suitable professional education and sufficient competence. This enables the placement of children and young people in need of special care and several siblings in the same home.

In addition to family carers, a professional family home may also have other staff.

A child placed in a professional family home receives individual care and comfort as well as an opportunity to join the family.

We procure professional family home services as outsourced services from private companies and organisations.
