Answer a survey on violence in close relationships

We are conducting a survey on the experiences of violence in close relationships among Helsinki residents aged 18 and over. You can respond to the survey anonymously until 9 October 2026. Every response helps us develop services and strengthen support for all those affected by violence and their loved ones.

Recovery and exercise after childbirth

Recovery from childbirth is a gradual process.

You can start exercising immediately after giving birth in accordance with your condition. Low-intensity exercise will speed up your body’s recovery from the changes caused by pregnancy and childbirth.

Often, a good way to start exercising is to go on walks with a pram or engage in everyday physical activities such as household chores and grocery store trips. You may have to sit for long periods of time, e.g. to breastfeed or hug your baby. Take breaks from long periods of inactivity by moving around.

Physiotherapy family coaching groups

We provide physiotherapy family coaching groups for individuals who have given birth, both remotely and in local groups. You can sign up for a group via Maisa.

If necessary, we can also schedule an individual appointment with a physiotherapist. For an individual appointment, you will need a referral. Discuss your situation at the maternity and child health clinic or contact your health station.
