We are conducting a survey on the experiences of violence in close relationships among Helsinki residents aged 18 and over. You can respond to the survey anonymously until 9 October 2026. Every response helps us develop services and strengthen support for all those affected by violence and their loved ones.

Support for development and learning belongs to all children who need it. The need for support is assessed and the support is planned and implemented in cooperation with experts working with you and your child. 

Our services

Speech therapy for children
Speech therapy aims to strengthen the development of children’s and young people’s speech, linguistic skills and communication as well as to prevent learning difficulties. You need a referral to access our free service.
Family centre neuropsychologist
The neuropsychologist evaluates things like the child and adolescent’s level of development, attentiveness, cognitive control and ability to regulate emotions and behaviour. You need a referral to access our free service.

Your concern may be related to stressful daily life or challenges in parenting, for example. You can contact us at a low threshold.

Physiotherapy for children
In children’s physiotherapy, we assess and rehabilitate a child’s motor development, mobility and functional ability. You need a referral to access our free service.

In an occupational therapy assessment of a child under the age of 6, we establish what kind of support the child needs to ensure the child’s development. You need a referral to access our free service.
Early childhood education physiotherapy
We support children’s motor coordination, group interaction skills, self-regulation and executive function skills by means of physical activity. We organise motor coordination support groups at daycare centres where there are children who need support.

The nutritional therapist will assess your child’s diet and give personal guidance and advice for your family. You need a referral to access our free service.
Maternity and child health clinic psychologist
We assess the child's development and the need for support. We also provide short-term discussion support for parents.

Support services for learning 
Each pupil will receive the support they need to study and learn. There are various forms of support available. Our goal is that as many pupils as possible can receive support at their local school.
