We are conducting a survey on the experiences of violence in close relationships among Helsinki residents aged 18 and over. You can respond to the survey anonymously until 9 October 2026. Every response helps us develop services and strengthen support for all those affected by violence and their loved ones.

We provide child health clinic services and health check-ups for children under school-age. The City also offers other types of support and activities for children.

Child health clinic services for children
Child health clinic services are intended for children under school-age. Here you can find information on child health clinic appointments for 1–6-year-olds.
Playgrounds’ and family houses’ activities for families with children
Playgrounds and family houses provide families opportunities to meet other families in similar life situations and share their experiences of daily life with children.

Our other services for families with children

Speech therapy for children
Speech therapy aims to strengthen the development of children’s and young people’s speech, linguistic skills and communication as well as to prevent learning difficulties.
Dental care for children
Dental hygienists and dental assistants perform oral and dental health check-ups for children at the age of 1, 3 and 5.
Family centre neuropsychologist
Psychologists or doctors may refer children and adolescents who struggle with learning, speaking, motor skills, focusing or interaction to us if the support measures provided by their school or early childhood education are insufficient.
